Music both old and new lights up the Holland Theatre stage in November, when audiences have a chance to re-live classic hits and catch a rising country star.
The month begins with ‘Splish Splash’ The Music of Bobby Darin at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7. The show features 22 songs, a swinging band, multimedia and backstage stories, starring Vegas showman Ron Gartner
From hits like “Dream Lover” to “Mack the Knife,” celebrate the indelible music of the teen idol, singer-songwriter, movie star and nightclub performer. Event sponsors are Mick and Jane Reed.
Next up is Kylie Frey with Brandi Sparks at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16. This rising country star is fresh from an audience-pleasing appearance on America’s Got Talent.
Frey is a third-generation rodeo girl and Louisiana state goat-tying champion. Sincere in her convictions and too real to dismiss, even for ardent country haters, her sound both typifies and transcends the genre.
She’s joined on bass by musician Jessie Jervis of Bellefontaine, and Ohio native singer-songwriter Sparks opening. The show is sponsored by Marker Inc.
Theater representatives also note that the B2wins show originally scheduled for Nov. 2 has been postponed until March 2.
The Holland Presents series continues in December with Christmas Celebration on Ice Sunday, Dec. 10, and a free holiday concert from the West Central Ohio Community Concert Band slated for Tuesday, Dec. 19.
Season sponsors are Beasley Architecture & Design and Marker, Inc.; media sponsors are the Bellefontaine Examiner and V-Teck Communications; and season support is provided by Honda of America and Ohio Arts Council.
