Kyle Dacanay, 33, of Springfield, was arrested for public intoxication shortly after 1 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, following a report of a suspicious person wandering around the area of 422 Kent Drive.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to that location on a report of a suspicious male wearing a backpack and a red hooded sweatshirt.
Responding police observed the suspect matching that description in the area of westbound Kent Drive near Wright Street.
Police made contact with the individual, Dacanay, who told officers he wasn’t sure why he was on Kent Drive. The male was visibly intoxicated, unsteady on his feet and slurring his words.
He was unable to contact anyone to come pick him up, and was lodged in the Logan County Jail for his own safety.
