Benjamin Logan Middle School presents a free Parent Academy Digital Empowerment session at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, at the Benjamin Logan High School auditorium.
The evening presentation is hosted by Captain Scott Frank, Internet Safety Expert & Former ICAC, and is for adults only. Parents/guardians in and around the Logan County area are welcome. Educators from all local schools are invited as well. The session has been rescheduled from March.
“BLMS is offering a Parent Academy to provide information about the dangers that our students are being exposed to in today’s society,” school officials said. “Social media challenges continue to cause disruption in our schools. Therefore, we would like to offer this informational session for adults throughout Logan County on the dangers that exist on social media.
“As educators, we are always working for solutions to keep our students safe. A partnership with parents to help support families that are struggling with internet safety and social media issues is a top priority.”
During the school day, Captain Frank will have lunch with students and lead Round Table Challenges. In addition, he will make special one-hour presentations to fifth- and sixth-grade students in the morning and seventh- and eighth-grade students in the afternoon.
