Daniel P. Oakley, 34, of 15643 State Route 720, Lakeview, was charged with domestic violence and disrupting public services related to an incident Thursday, Aug. 31.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 2:50 p.m. to a report of a domestic dispute on Union Street in Lakeview.
While en route, deputies were informed by officers of the Washington Township Police Department that Oakley went out a back window of the residence, into the backyard and disappeared from their sight.
Officers and deputies searched the area for Oakley, also utilizing Washington Township Police Department’s K9. They were not able to locate him at that time.
Deputies spoke with Oakley’s signifiant other, who stated that he had struck her in the face before he left the home.
About 9:35 p.m. that evening, Oakley arrived back at the Union Street home. Deputies, along with Washington Township Police and Russells Point Police officers responded to the scene. The defendant was placed under arrest and was transported to the Logan County Jail.
Driver transported from S.R. 638 crash
Robert A. Jenkins, 79, of Belle Center, was transported by BMRT squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries sustained in a crash about 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30.
Deputies report Jenkins was operating a westbound 2022 Ford Escape on County Road 101 and he did not yield from the stop sign to cross into the intersection of State Route 638 and County Road 106.
His vehicle was struck by a northbound 2010 Toyota Tundra operated by Nathan W. Althouse, 36, of Belle Center.
Althouse did not report any injuries, and Jenkins was cited for a stop sign violation.
Damage was heavy to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
• Vivek Tamilarasu, 42, of Plain City, was cited for failure to control related to a non-injury crash about 6:55 a.m. Wednesday.
Deputies report Tamilarasu was operating a westbound Toyota Corolla on U.S. Route 33 near Township Road 95 when he attempted to pass a semi tractor-trailer, but then got back into the westbound lane, overcorrecting and traveling off the right side of the road.
His car then came to rest in a tree line on the north side of U.S. 33.
Damage was heavy to the car, which was towed from the scene.
