Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating a car verses bicycle crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 29, and sent the bicyclist to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The bicyclist, who at this time has not yet been identified, deputies said, was transported by Indian Lake EMS to Lima Memorial Hospital after the crash that occurred about 4:15 p.m.
Deputies report Robert M. Rains, 74, of Lakeview, was operating a westbound 2005 Dodge Magnum in the 13200 block State Route 235 when his car struck the rear of the bicycle, causing the bicyclist to be thrown from the bicycle.
No citations have yet been issued as the investigation continues.
Damage was light to the car and heavy to the bicycle.
