Lottie Davis, 88, seated at the left, and Ken Hostetler, 93, were crowned The Homestead at Logan Acres fair royalty Monday, Aug. 28, to kick off the returning Country Fair Week at the facility, located at 2745 County Road 91, Bellefontaine. The 2023 Logan County Fair royalty stopped by to help with the official crowning. They are, standing, from the left, Junior Princess Eeverly Griffiths, 8, an Indian Lake Schools third-grader; Queen Shyanne McClintick, 16, a West Liberty-Salem High School junior; Ike Meister, 8, a West Liberty-Salem second-grader; and Savannah McClintick, 13, a West Liberty-Salem eighth-grader. Bellefontaine Mayor Ben Stahler and former city major Bob Noestine, a resident of The Homestead, performed a ribbon cutting Monday as well for the country fair. Festivities for residents of The Homestead continue all week, and the schedule includes: today, Tuesday — a “cow patty” toss at 10 a.m., fair pictures with cowboy hats at 11 a.m. and bingo at 1:30 p.m.; Wednesday, a water balloon toss on the garden patio at 1:30 p.m.; Thursday, a bean bag toss at 1:30 p.m. For the last day of the fair Friday, a Fair Style Sit and Be Fit begins at 11 a.m., followed by a ventriloquist at 1:30 p.m. and an afternoon movie “State Fair” at 2:30 p.m., with activities coordinated by life enrichment coordinator Judy Morris and Phil Forsythe.
