Auxiliary officer, new SRO sworn in for service

Retired Bellefontaine Police Department Officer Allen Huffman is sworn in as an auxiliary police officer Friday afternoon, Aug. 11, by Mayor Ben Stahler. Hoffman retired May 31, following 34 years of service in law enforcement, much of that tine serving with the BPD.

Retired Bellefontaine Police Department Detective Blake Kenner is administered the oath of office Friday afternoon, Aug. 11, by Mayor Ben Stahler for Kenner’s new role as Bellefontaine Middle School’s school resource officer to begin the school year. Kenner retired in February, with 31 years of service at the BPD.

“I’m grateful to both of these gentlemen for returning to be a part of our law-enforcement community. They both had distinguished careers and earned the right to retire,” Mayor Stahler said. “I’m also grateful that Blake Kenner has decided to switch hats and serve our community as a school resource officer.
