In keeping with the historic battles that led to the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, the intersection at north Center and east Buckeye streets in Belle Center continued the conflict that has been taking place there for as long as some residents can remember. Only this fight involved squirt guns, garden hoses and, on Tuesday, July 4, anyway, about 1,300 water balloons. (EXAMINER PHOTO | SHARYN KOPF)

Residents and visitors lined the streets of Belle Center to enjoy the annual July 4th parade before heading over to Richland Township Park for fun and games and all the food truck fair you could want. The day ended with the 41st annual fireworks display. (EXAMINER PHOTO | SHARYN KOPF)
