Falconer Joseph Dorrian with the Ohio School of Falconry, Columbus, gives fourth-grade volunteer Henry Decker a demonstration of catching a Harris’ hawk. The Birds of Prey presentation took place Sunday afternoon, June 4, at Mary Rutan Park as part of the Bellefontaine Joint Recreation District’s outdoor nature program. Lead volunteer Karen Kennedy presented the program that featured five different birds of prey, also including the peregrine falcon, Eurasian eagle owl, South American spectacled owl and the barn owl.
