Bellefontaine Police Department Officer Allen Huffman stands with a variety of commemorative items he received at his retirement party Wednesday, May 31, following his 34 years of service in law enforcement, including the last 10 years with the BPD. The school resource officer most recently was a welcoming face for staff and students at Bellefontaine Middle School and Elementary. He served as a SRO for the past eight years, including full-time for the last seven years. The St. Paris native and Graham High School graduate first was employed by the St. Paris Police Department and attended the Logan County Law Enforcement Academy at the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center from 1988 to 1989. Then he worked as a Champaign County Sheriff’s Office deputy for 13 1/2 years and as a deputy at the Clark County Sheriff’s Office for 1 1/2 years.
