ILMS Hope Walk honors cancer survivors, raises funds for LCCS

Indian Lake Middle School recently hosted the school’s second annual Hope Walk to honor and remember those among us who have battled or who are battling cancer.

The Hope Walk replaces the former Relay for Life hosted for many years at ILMS.
Grade levels circled the track and had the opportunity to purchase a variety of food and drinks.

Part way through the event, more than a dozen cancer survivors with ties to ILMS led a special Survivors’ Lap.

They included Laura Pratt (Ashlynn Arndts), Pam Breakey (Maddison Leiss-Breakey, Lilly Martin), Kylie Eaton and Braylynn Pickford (Breanna Gordon), Pam Herberger (Alaina Hershberger), Kathleen Vance (Hunter Vance), Lorna Brunson (Shannyn Brunson), Roni Like (Tyler and Brady Jackson), Tim Ricketts (Zoey Ricketts), Lynnix Kindle (Avyair Kuhlenbeck, Lyric Kindle), Stacey McLean (Madison McLean), Kerri Motter (Haley and Laura Metzger, Kaleb and Kenzie Motter, Kaleigh and Karlee Taylor), Tammy Hurley (Easlise Simpson-Cruz), Crystal Lillicrap (Jordan Henderson), Brooke Snow (Kaylee Snow and Carter Oakley), Gayle Dye (Grant and Hillary Wickline), Richard Gist (Diem Martin), and Chris Fulkerson (Amanda Fulkerson).

The Hope Walk event raised more than $1,000 in one day. That total will be added to money raised throughout the year. All proceeds will go to the Logan County Cancer Society.
