Speeding driver lodged for failure to comply

Eddie Galloway, 31, of Michigan, was charged with failure to comply with the order/signal of a police officer following a traffic stop Thursday, March 16, after officers of the Washington Township Police Department observed his vehicle traveling in excess of 100 mph in 55 mph zone.

Officers on patrol on State Route 274 and State Route 235 about 9:50 p.m. observed his speeding vehicle and activated lights and sirens. However, Galloway reportedly continued to travel eastbound on State Route 274, failing to yield to the officer.

The vehicle continued on State Route 274 at varying speeds. Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office positioned themselves to block the roadway at State Route 274 and U.S. Route 33. As the driver approached the blocked intersection, the vehicle came to a stop.

Officers ordered Galloway out of the vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Logan County Jail.

OVI charges filed

Aaron Redman, 32, of Hilliard, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs relating to a traffic stop Thursday.

Officers on patrol about 6:50 p.m. on U.S. Route 33 near Township Road 94 and observed a vehicle driven by Redman make several lane violations.

During the traffic stop, the defendant stated the lane violations were due to a faulty tire.
While speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment. He admitted to drinking earlier in the day. Redman consented to field sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest.

He was transported to the Logan County Jail and consented to a breath test, with a result of 0.124 blood alcohol content. Redman also was cited for a marked lanes violation and was released to a sober driver.
