Hit-skip crash reported in Lakeview

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a hit-skip crash Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 24, in the 200 block of south Main Street in Lakeview.

Deputies said a southbound vehicle was traveling in the outside lane about 2:30 p.m. and struck the rear of a parked and unoccupied 2005 Dodge Caravan owned by John P. Lewis of Lima.

The unknown motorist then fled the scene. Damage was moderate to the Caravan.

• Michael J. Frost, 16, of DeGraff, was cited for failure to control related to a non-injury crash Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating a westbound 1992 Ford F-150 on Township Road 45 near Township Road 33 about 3:35 p.m. when he went off the right side of the road, striking a concrete post.

Damage was heavy to the pickup, which was towed from the scene. The driver was wearing his seat belt.
