A Rushsylvania area man reportedly died after a late Saturday afternoon, March 7, rollover crash involving a car near 3580 County Road 9.

Stephen D. Breeding, 54, was transported by Rushcreek Township EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report. Authorities said he was the lone occupant in the vehicle.

Mr. Breeding was driving a 2006 Toyota Scion northeast on C.R. 9 about 5 p.m. when the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, reentered the road and crossed the centerline. The car then went off the left side of the road, where it overturned an unknown number of times before coming to rest on its tires.

The deceased was taken to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office in Dayton for an autopsy.

Toxicology results are pending.

The Multi-County Crash Investigation Team also responded to assist with the investigation.

Traffic in the area was closed for a time while crews worked the scene.

First responders were on scene for about an hour and a half, according to the crash report.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was removed from the scene by Top’s Towing.

This is the first traffic fatality in Logan County this year, deputies said.

The crash remains under investigation.
