2-vehicle fatal crash reported on I-75 in Auglaize County

Troopers of the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are currently investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Sunday, Nov. 23, at approximately 6:12 a.m. in Auglaize County,. 

The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2019 Kia Soul was southbound on Interstate 75 near milepost 118 and drove off of the right side of the roadway and struck a 2007 Ford Edge that was abandoned. 

Troopers said both the Kia and the Ford then caught fire and burnt.

The driver and sole occupant of the Kia sustained fatal injuries. At the time of the press release, the occupant has not been identified.

The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, Auglaize County Coroner, Uniopolis Fire Department, Cridersville EMS, Auglaize County CERT, Auglaize County EMA, Ohio Department of Transportation, Nelsons Towing and Tops Towing also responded to the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
