A DeGraff woman sustained serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash Monday night, May 5 at Township Road 216 and County Road 18.

Susan King, 71, was transported by Bellefontaine EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report. She was later transferred to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, where she was listed in critical, but stable condition as of late Tuesday afternoon, May 6.

Deputies said King was driving a southwest-bound 2009 Buick Lucerne on C.R. 18 about 9:25 p.m. when a southbound 2024 Toyota RAV4 stopped on T.R. 216 pulled into the intersection south toward T.R. 200 and was struck by King’s car.

The Toyota’s driver, Gordon West, 72, of the Belle Center-area, reportedly was not injured.

West was cited for a stop sign violation.

The drivers each were wearing a seat belt.

Damage to the vehicles was disabling. They were towed from the scene.

This is at least the third reported crash in as many days at the C.R. 18-T.R. 200 intersection. Two of the three resulted in serious injuries to the occupants involved.
