Zanesfield man succumbs to injuries after car-train crash

KENTON — A Zanesfield man has died from injuries he sustained when a train struck his vehicle Feb. 11 in Kenton.

Joe Alan Stuber, 63, drove his 2001 Toyota Camry around a set of railroad crossing gates at a crossing near Bales Road, Kenton police report. The car was then struck about 2:39 p.m. on the passenger side by a train.

Stuber was taken by BKP Ambulance District to Lima Memorial Hospital, where he later passed away, police report.

Train operator Joshua Frederick, 44, of Upper Sandusky, was reportedly not injured in the crash.
