Twenty-five adults and 10 youths from all around Logan County recently enjoyed an educational and fun-packed day trip to Lake Erie, sponsored by the Logan County Land Trust.

The group first travelled by bus to Stone Laboratory on Lake Erie. The lab is a research facility operated by The Ohio State University and the facility has the goal of improving, educating and managing the issues that impact Lake Erie and all the Great Lakes.

The group also visited Magee Marsh on Lake Erie, which is well known for the variety of waterfowl, song birds and raptors that this area attracts. A brand new visitors’ center with many attractive wildlife displays was available to the Logan County travelers as well.

The last stop of the journey was the demonstration farm that presents farm practices to improve water quality and the runoff that eventually drains to Lake Erie. Jordan Hoewisher with Farm Bureau and landowner Chris Kurt were the presenters.
