Abby Erwin, 20, of Bellefontaine, was arrested and charged with domestic violence around 9:24 p.m., Friday, May 5, following an altercation with a family member.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of Cooper Avenue in reference to the domestic dispute.
Kaitlyn Erwin reported to officers that her sister, the suspect, had refused to leave her house, raised her fist at her and left red scratch and bruise marks on her arm. The victim said Abby had been babysitting for her, but when she brought her home, Kaitlyn’s daughter was crying, upset because Abby reportedly had thrown water in her face as a “joke.”
Kaitlyn, who is 16 weeks pregnant, became upset and told Abby to leave, but the suspect refused. The victim’s significant other broke up the fight between the sisters.
Contact was eventually made with Abby, who acknowledged that she failed to leave the residence immediately when asked. She claimed she acted in self-defense, but was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Suspect arrested on outstanding warrant
Brandon Blevins, 37, of Bellefontaine, was lodged in the Logan County Jail on outstanding warrant for breaking and entering around 9:30 p.m., Friday, May 5, after officers observed him leave the Mary Rutan Hospital Emergency Department.
Officers working detail at the hospital were familiar with Blevins and knew there were active warrants for his arrest.
Contact was made with Blevins, the warrants were confirmed and he was lodged in jail.
