KETTERING — West Liberty-Salem found itself on the other end of a shutout Tuesday, Oct. 21, as they lost 5-0 to Archbishop Alter in a boys soccer Division IV district semifinal.
Alter was ranked fourth in the state and the top seed in the district.
Tucker Searles had 12 saves in goal.
Coach Tim Wolfe said the team played with discipline and intelligence, and expressed appreciation to the six seniors.
The Tigers finish with a record of 16-3-1, the second-best in program history.
Preble Shawnee 2, Calvary Christian 1 (OT)
CAMDEN — Calvary Christian lost to Preble Shawnee in a Division V district semifinal on Tuesday night.
Nehemiah Dillon had the goal for the Spartans, and Brody Prall made 10 saves.
Calvary Christian ends the year with a winning record, 9-8-2, and also got the program’s first-ever win in OHSAA postseason play.
Coach Daniel Wilt said, “In my first year of coaching, I could not have asked for a better group of seniors.
They set the tone early this season, led by example, and truly honored Christ in the way they have carried themselves. We’ve got big shoes to fill, but it was an honor and blessing to be their coach.”
