William F. “Bill” Appel, 74, of Russells Point, passed away Monday, June 10, 2024, in The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.

He was born in Reading, Ohio on January 12, 1950, the son of the late William Fredrick and Lois (Brettschneider) Appel.

He is survived by a stepson, Josh (Leah) Dickinson of Eugene, Oregon, a stepdaughter, Sarah (Steve) Neff of Harrisburg, NC, and four step grandchildren: Kasper Dickinson, Grace Neff, Emily Neff, and Lucy Neff.

He was part of WCIT Lima’s AM Country station, where all the announcers reigned supreme on the airwaves. He later went to work for Logan County Children’s Services.  He enjoyed golfing, boating and fishing.
