SPRINGFIELD — Northeastern edged West Liberty-Salem 3-2 in eight innings in an Ohio Heritage Conference battle on Monday.
Each team scored one run in the first inning. Northeastern got one in the fourth, with the Lady Tigers squaring it with a run in the sixth.
After a scoreless seventh, WL-S went down in order in the top of the eighth. In the bottom half, two batters reached on errors. The next batter grounded out to second, but it allowed the Jets to score the winning run.
Taking the loss was Kennedy Wallace, who went the distance. She gave up six hits, walked two and struck out five.
Audrey Collins got three hits for West Liberty-Salem, including a double. Olivia Reichardt also hit a double. Wallace and Savannah McClintick had the RBIs.
West Liberty-Salem is now 4-8 in the conference and 5-9 overall. The squads are due to meet again today at West Liberty-Salem’s diamond.

Bellefontaine 14, Urbana 1
Bellefontaine topped host Urbana in six innings to win a Central Buckeye Conference crossover game.
Pitcher Joy Fogan and catcher Laila Butler were able to get 10 strikeouts, with Fogan allowing four hits and one walk.
Butler went 3-for-4 with a double, and Kassi Prine had a double and single.
They scored one in the second, seven in the fourth and six in the sixth.
Urbana got their only tally in the first.
Bellefontaine (3-6 CBC, 5-9 overall) is at Tecumseh this evening.

Riverside 9, Jackson Center 6
Riverside fought its way back to a Senior Night win over Jackson Center in nonleague action.
The Lady Tigers scored three in the first and three in the third, while Riverside got one in between.
Riverside then added four in the bottom of the third, with two in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Riley Dillon tossed a complete game for the win, allowing nine hits and three walks. She got seven strikeouts.
Dillon had a two-run homer in the sixth. Aubree Huston and Taylor Dillon each got two hits. Those driving in runs were Emilee Robinson, Taylor Dillon, Jaidyn Jackson and Avery Perk.
Seniors Brook Hunkler, Jayden Hoffer, Huston, Taylor Dillon, Jackson and Perk were honored in pregame ceremonies.
Riverside moves to 10-8 overall, and is 4-3 in the Three Rivers Conference. They will go to Troy Christian today.

Indian Lake 14, Graham 2
ST. PARIS — Indian Lake rolled to a win over host Graham in CBC Mad River play on Monday.
The game was stopped after five innings.
The Lakers had three runs in the first, three in the second, one in third, three in the fourth and four in the fifth.
Graham avoided the shutout with two in the fourth.
Bre Wisener was the winning pitcher, facing all but four batters in the fourth. She allowed two hits, walked four and struck out six. Halle Roby allowed two runs on three hits.
Roby did her share of damage at the plate, hitting two home runs and a double for four RBIs. Wisener had three hits, including a solo homer, and drove in a second run. Annie Rapp had three hits, one a double, and three RBIs. Mackenzie Dixon, Izzi Mackesy, and Brylee Buyer got two hits each. Others with RBIs were Abigail Elliott (two), Kit Miller, and Adeline Robinson.
Indian Lake (6-5 CBC, 11-7 overall) hosts Graham on Wednesday.

Northwestern 7, Benjamin Logan 2
SPRINGFIELD — Northwestern defeated Ben Logan in CBC Mad River action.
The Lady Raiders scored one in the second and one in the fifth. The hosts got one in the second, then three each in the third and fourth.
Starter Adilynne Gregg worked two innings, allowing four of the runs on eight hits. She got one strikeout. Chloe Crumm handled the other four, with three runs on three hits, two walks and three strikeouts.
Crumm collected two doubles and a single, while Sidney Sallee had two hits. RBIs went to Tanna Jacobs and Bryleigh Burnside.
Ben Logan (6-4 CBC, 11-5) will host the Lady Warriors on Wednesday.
