Phillip Klaas, 29, of Russells Point and Aaliyah Shoffner, 19 of Bellefontaine, each were charged with disorderly conduct Monday evening, July 17.

Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol on State Route 708 near the Russells Point Police Department about 6:40 p.m. observed a male and a female walk into the roadway nearly causing them to be struck by the patrol car.
The officer stopped and spoke with the pedestrians, Klaas and Shoffner, and advised them to stay out of the roadway.

The officer continued his patrol and seconds later observed Phillip and Aaliyah arguing and wrestling in the middle of the roadway. The officer again made contact with Phillip and Aaliyah and they denied anything physical took place and were uncooperative with officers.

The defendants were taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail. Additional charges are pending review by the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and officers of the Russell’s Point Police Department assisted at the scene.
