Washington Township police: Pair arrested on drug-related charges

Ronald Shoffner, 32, of Lakeview, and Jeannie Heintz, 39, of Russells Point each were placed under arrest related to an incident Wednesday, Aug. 2.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol on Township Road 239 near State Route 720 about 10 p.m. observed two vehicles parked at a closed business, blocking the entrances.
Officers made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and they were identified as Shoffner and Heintz.
Officers observed signs of drug abuse and both Ronald and Jeannie were overly nervous.
A consent search was conducted and a methamphetamine pipe was located on Shoffner’s person. A consent search of the vehicle was conducted and methamphetamine was located inside of the vehicle. Both defendants were taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.
Heintz was charged with possession of drugs and Shoffner was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
