Washington Township officers report holiday weekend activity

Officers of the Washington Township Police Department report the following Memorial Day weekend activity:

• Friday, May 26,at 4:02 p.m., a vehicle driven by Nicholas Stoermer, 40 of Xenia was stopped for a registration and equipment violation.

Upon making contact with the driver, he admitted to having fentanyl in his pants pocket. A probable cause search of his vehicle was conducted and a large amount of cash was located in additional to marijuana. Charges of possession of drugs were forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office.

• Friday, at 4:58 p.m., a vehicle driven by Leroy Maye Jr, 36 of New Carlisle, and occupied by Brittany Lipker, 36, of New Carlisle, was stopped for an equipment violation. Upon making contact, Lipker admitted there was a methamphetamine pipe inside of the vehicle.

While conducting a search of the vehicle, Maye was observed attempting to hide an item in the bumper of the vehicle. The item was located and found to be a baggie containing methamphetamine. Charges of possession of drugs and tampering with evidence were sent to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office.

• Friday, at 8:22 p.m., a vehicle driven by Jerry Alberding, 57 of Wapakoneta, was stopped on Main Street near Burkhart Avenue for an equipment violation.

Upon making contact with Alberding, an open container of beer was observed and the driver admitted there was marijuana inside of the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted. During the search, officers located the open container, marijuana and a fentanyl.

Charges of possession of drugs were forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office.

• Friday, at 11:11 p.m., a vehicle driven by Todd Ebner, 60 of Huntsville was stopped on State Route 366 near Township Road 95 for a stop sign and turn signal violation.

While speaking with the driver, signs of impairment were observed. Ebner was asked to perform field sobriety tests and refused. He was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail. Once there, Ebner refused to submit to a breath test. He was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and was cited for stop sign and turn signal violations.
