Bellefontaine’s volleyball team turned in another strong performance Tuesday, sweeping visiting Tecumseh 25-6, 25-15, 25-8 in Central Buckeye Conference action.
The Chiefs are now 8-1 overall and 3-0 in the CBC.
Madi Zedeker had 32 assists and was 17-17 serving with four aces and six digs to help spark the Chiefs in the win. Kelsie Snapp tallied 16 kills, 13 digs and an ace Taylor Banta had six kills and 21 digs, Gabbe Hoon, Ava Campbell and Ava Layman all added four kills each, Campbell had three digs, two aces and three blocks, Hoon had two blocks and Ava Reeves tallied 13 digs.
The junior varsity Red Chiefs won 25-5, 25-9. Ava Oppy led the Chiefs with four aces and 10 digs, Kaeleigh Flora was 17-17 serving with two aces and had 10 digs, Zoey Conner tallied nine kills, Presley Vigansky had three kills, seven digs and seven assists, Alayna Boyd had nine assists and Jillian Ullom had four digs.
The Chiefs play at Kenton Ridge on Thursday.
Raiders sweep Lakers
Visiting Benjamin Logan rolled to a 25-22, 25-20, 25-22 win over county rival Indian Lake in a Central Buckeye Conference volleyball match Tuesday.
The Raiders are now 6-2 overall and 3-0 in the CBC. The Lakers fall to 8-2, 2-1.
Skylar Miracle and Georgia Daniels each posted nine kills and Makayla Williamson had eight kills for the Raiders.
Also for Ben Logan, Caroline Spriggs had four kills, Abby Vance recorded two kills and three blocks, Annika Chappell had two kills, Autumn Cline tallied 32 assists and Mia Stahler had 16 digs.
For the Lakers, Riley Ross was 13-13 serving, 23- 24 on serves received and had 18 digs, Kenzie Dixon had eight kills and 14 digs and Halle Roby tallied eight kills, 13 digs and 15 assists.
In the junior varsity match, Indian Lake won 31- 29, 25-20.
For the Lakers, Ady Oldiges was 5-6 serving and 14-17 setting with four assists, Brynna Avila was 8-8 serving and was 12-12 on serves received, Bre Wisener was 9-10 serving with two aces and had four kills, Kit Miller had four kills, four digs and two aces, Miley Humble had two kills, Quinn Imm tallied 10 digs and Kenzley Pertuset was 11-12 serving and had six digs.
WL-S tops SCC
West Liberty-Salem earned a 23-25, 25-10, 25- 14, 25-13 win over Springfield Catholic Central in Ohio Heritage Conference volleyball action Tuesday night.
The Tigers are now 5-3 overall and 5-2 in the OHC. SCC falls to 1-6, 1-6.
Ellah Heminger recorded six kills, 21 digs and was 14-15 serving with an ace for the Tigers. Londyn Loveless had three aces, 19 assists, four kills and 15 digs and Naomi Cole tallied 20 kills, two digs and was 12-12 serving with two aces.
Also for WL-S, Kiersten Stoll had six kills, 10 digs and three aces, Lili Heminger had five kills and three digs, Marissa Smith tallied nine digs and was 22-24 serving with two aces, Asher Daniels had seven kills, 13 digs and was 9-11 serving, Reagan Winters had six digs and was 9-9 on serves received and Lyndee Harrison had two digs.
The WL-S junior varsity A team won 25-9, 25-14.
For the Tigers, Olive Matthews had three digs, Addie Hutton had two kills, Belle Sarver recorded four kills, Emma Liggett had two digs, three kills and nine aces and Sophia Landon had eight assists and eight aces.
Vikings down Pirates
Host Miami East defeated Riverside 25-15, 25-12, 25-19 in Three Rivers Conference volleyball action Tuesday. Aubree Huston had 17 digs and Jayden Hoffer posted four kills for the Pirates.
In the junior varsity match, Riverside lost 25-14, 25-16. Chloe Purtee had seven digs and Molly Carman had four kills and two aces.
