Vikings too much for Pirates in TRC softball matchup

    A very talented Miami East team defeated host Riverside 13-5 in a Three Rivers Conference makeup game Saturday.

    The Pirates are now 13-9 overall and 8-5 in the TRC. The Vikings improve to 16-6, 12-2.

    Miami East grabbed a 2-1 lead after one inning. Both teams then scored three runs in the fourth inning to make the score 5-4, in favor of the Vikings.

    The Vikings dominated the final three innings. They scored twice in the fifth, five times in the sixth and once in the seventh to pull away.

    Riverside had a good day with the bats as they cranked out 13 hits.

    Jade Copas went 3-4 with a double and an RBI, Kaitlyn Schlumbohm went 3-4 with a double and an RBI to spark the Pirates and Jaidyn Jackson went 3-4 with a double to spark the Pirates.

    Riverside is back in action today at home with another league makeup game against Covington.
