Tuttle pitches Lakers past Warriors

Indian Lake jumped out to an early lead and did not look back en route to a 6-1 win over visiting Northwestern in a Central Buckeye Conference baseball game Monday.

The Lakers are now 5-2 overall and 4-1 in the CBC. The Warriors drop to 2-3, 1-3.

Indian Lake plated a run in the bottom of the first and put three runs on the scoreboard in the second inning for a 4-0 lead.

The Warriors plated their lone run in the top of the fourth, and the Lakers tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Camdon Tuttle went the distance on the mound for the Lakers. He allowed five hits, walked one, struck out seven and did not allow an earned run.

Indian Lake collected eight hits.

Chase Baldwin went 3-3 with a double and two RBI to fuel the Lakers. Lane Tucci went 2-3 with a double and Tuttle had a double and an RBI.

The Lakers play at Northwestern on Wednesday.

Tigers top Eagles

West Liberty-Salem’s baseball team rallied for a 10-6 win over host Madison Plains on Thursday.

The Tigers are now 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the Ohio Heritage Conference. The Eagles drop to 1-7, 0-5.

Madison Plains led 6-1 after four innings.

The Tigers battled back with four runs in the fifth and four in the sixth. That gave the visitors a 9-6 lead.

WL-S tacked on another run in the seventh.

Jeremiah Johnson went 2-3 with a double and two RBI to spark the Tigers at the plate.

Also for WL-S, Eli Allen went 2-5 with a double, Peyton Hull went 2-3 with two RBI and Jayden Temple went 2-4 with a double.

Hull came on in relief and earned the win on the mound.
The Tigers play today at home against Southeastern.

Urbana edges Ben Logan

Host Benjamin Logan saw Urbana rally for a 4-3 victory over the Raiders in a Central Buckeye Conference baseball game Monday.

The Raiders fall to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in the CBC. The Hillclimbers improve to 4-5, 2-3.

Urbana took a 1-0 lead with a run in the third inning and the Hillclimbers increased their lead to 2-0 in the top of the fourth.

Ben Logan scored all three of its runs in the bottom of the fifth to lead 3-2.

Urbana tied the game with a run in the sixth and the Hillclimbers scored the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh.

Ian Scheiderer had two RBI to lead the Ben Logan offense.

The Raiders play at Graham today.

Chiefs lose to JA

Bellefontaine’s baseball team was unable to get timely hitting Monday in an 8-1 loss to visiting Jonathan Alder in Central Buckeye Conference action.

The Chiefs are now 1-5 overall and 0-4 in the CBC. The Pioneers move to 8-0, 5-0.

Bellefontaine led 1-0 after two innings, but the Pioneers scored twice in the third inning for a 2-1 lead.

The Pioneers plated four runs in the fifth to lead 6-1 and they added two more runs in the sixth.

Bellefontaine is back in action Wednesday at Jonathan Alder.

Triad can’t contain Rams

Triad fell behind early and could not recover in a 14-4 loss to host Greeneview in Ohio Heritage Conference baseball action Monday.

The Cardinals slip to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in the OHC. The Rams move to 4-1, 2-1.
Greeneview scored seven runs in the first inning.

Triad plated its first run-in the top of the third, but the Rams responded with three in the bottom of the third for a 10-1 lead.

The Cardinals mustered just three hits while giving up 12 hits.

Triad is back in action today at home against Madison Plains.
