Troy Harrison Brown

50

Troy Harrison Brown, 63, son, brother, uncle, and husband finished his journey through life, March 8, 2025, at 6:32 pm at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Bowling Green State University and while there he joined ROTC. He was a dedicated member of Christ our King Church in Bellefontaine, Ohio for 35 years.

His life can be summed up in quotes and scriptures.

“Hope. It is the quintessential human delusion, simultaneously the source of one’s greatest strength, and greatest weakness.”

Keep hope alive!

How do we reconcile these two statements? It can be difficult to do sometimes, but not doing so can be catastrophic.

Proverbs helps us settle this conundrum. Where there is no vision, the people perish…

Troy was never short on visions up to his last days. Taking his first breath Oct. 26, 1961, and his last March 8, 2025, he always had a vision. Almost as if his life’s mission was to create something. It started as a child who received a Tonka truck every Christmas until he had a full set of Construction equipment, and he spent the vast part of his adult life in construction. Always dreaming to build his piece of the world one brick at a time. He frequently spoke of his passion for raising a building from the dust. And because God willed it, he proudly and successfully built commercial buildings, hotels, apartments, restaurants, and schools around Ohio and other States.

Troy was preceded in death by both parents, Lewis H. Brown Sr., and Patricia L. Brown. His sister, Caryn Brown McGuire, and his wife Angie Brown of 33 years.

He is survived by brothers, Lewis H. Brown Jr. (Diane) and Darren W. Brown (Angelia), and sister, Mildrena A. Brown. He will be missed by his aunt, nieces and great-nieces, nephews and great- nephew, and cousins, along with, his extended families (The Ricks, Gentry, Dane Brown, Doseck, and Hauser), friends, and co-workers. To all of you Troy would say, “I’ll see you on the other side!”

One of the last conversations between he and his brother Darren will always be remembered because it reenforces a well-known statement by most, if not all. “Say what’s on your heart to those that need to hear it.” Only God knows the appointed time of your last breath. Don’t deprive the people in your life the opportunity to hear you say those all-important words: I love you! “COME ON NOW!” Troy

Pastor Robin Ricks will officiate a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Christ Our King Church, 1325 County Road 9, Bellefontaine, Ohio. Visitation will be March 22, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
