Shatara Waldroop, 33 of Lakeview, was charged with possession of drugs related to a traffic top about 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department were on patrol on U.S. Route 33 near Township Road 239 and conducted a traffic stop on Waldroop for an equipment violation.
Upon making contact with Shatara, officers said she was overly nervous. Waldroop consented to a search of her vehicle. Officers reportedly located methamphetamine inside of her purse.
The defendant was taken into custody and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
