Thomas R. L. Fetter, 80, passed away at 4:48 am, January 2, 2024, at his residence.
He was born April 23, 1943 in Lima to J. Russell and Grethel Christine (Craig) Fetter who preceded him in death. On March 21, 1964 he married Jeryl (Jerri) Diane (Bahr) Fetter who preceded him in death on February 10, 1995.
Thomas “Tom” Fetter was a man who wore many hats, both figuratively and literally. Tom was an incredibly dedicated farmer who worked diligently to carry on the legacy that his parents, Russell and Grethel, left to him and his brother when they moved to Waynesfield and began farming in 1933.
In addition to being a dedicated farmer, he was also a real estate agent with Seiling Real Estate and later became a broker and part-owner of Oakridge Realty, as well as Star Homes.
Aside from his work-ethic, Tom was an avid story teller. He enjoyed talking… a lot ! Tom never knew a stranger and never failed to “shoot the breeze” and spark up conversation.
He cherished farming with his son(s) and grandsons and bonding with his grandchildren/great-grandchildren. He loved his family dearly and worked timelessly to continue the legacy for his children and their children. Those who love him will miss his generosity, stories, and orneriness. They take comfort and peace in knowing Tom was a man who knew God. They find solace in the knowledge that he is now safe in the loving arms of his wife, Jeryl.
