Thomas Michael “Tom” Cooper, 73, of Huntsville, OH passed away Sunday morning, June 4, 2023, at his home.
Tom was born on April 10, 1950, in Bellefontaine, OH, a son of the late Kenneth and Leona Mattox Cooper. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Cooper, and a sister, Deb Wallace.
Tom married Sharen Bennett on December 20, 1968, in Huntsville, and she survives along with their daughter, Abra Sue Sparks, and son, James Kenneth (Kim) Cooper, both of Huntsville, granddaughters, Becca (Ryan) Jacobs, and Chloe Sparks, great grandson, Jett, a brother, Phil Cooper of Florida, a sister, Jane (Mick) Reed of Huntsville, sister-in-law, Kathy Cooper of Russells Point, OH, a brother-in-law, Greg Wallace of Huntsville, many nieces and nephews, and special friends, Bob, Sandy, and Kenny in Ely, MN
Tom was a graduate of Indian Lake High School and attended Bluffton College. He was a contractor and owned and operated Cooper and Sons, Inc. Tom was a member of Russells Point Church of God. He was a past president of Indian Lake Fish and Game. Tom enjoyed fishing, boating, taking nature walks and hiking from Indian Lake to the great Northwoods of Minnesota.
We hope you all have time this summer to sit by a fire and watch it dance. To enjoy something so simple and yet so integral to our survival. We hope that it sparks something deep within. Tom was that spark for all of us!
