Shayla E. Nicole, 19, of Bellefontaine, was transported by Tri-Valley EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries related to a crash Saturday, Dec. 31.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report she was operating a southbound 2010 Honda Fit at a high rate of speed on County Road 5 near Township Road 182 about 3:15 p.m.. She reportedly failed to negotiate a curve and went off the left side of the road, striking a utility pole and coming to rest in a field.
Damage was heavy to the vehicle, which was towed from the scene. The driver was wearing her seat belt and was cited for failure to control.
• Allie C. Henault, 17, of Rushsylvania, was cited for failure to control related to a non-injury crash Tuesday, Dec. 27.
Deputies report she was operating a southbound 2004 Ford Ranger on State Route 540 near C.R. 5 about 12:50 p.m. when she went off the left side of the road, striking an underground wire pedestal and a fence.
Damage was moderate to the pickup, which was towed from the scene. The driver was wearing her seat belt.
Man lodged for menacing
Kenneth W. Snider, 60, of 8991 Hilltop Drive, Turkeyfoot, Lakeview, was charged with menacing and persistent disorderly conduct relating to an incident New Year’s Day at his residence.
Dispatchers at the sheriff’s office received a 911 call from a man who was slurring his words, using profanities and sounded like he was having difficulty breathing. Indian Lake EMS responded to the Hilltop Drive residence, along with deputies.
While speaking with Snider at the residence, deputies said the defendant was belligerent with them and with EMS personnel, who were trying to assess his condition.
He reportedly continued to scream profanities at the first responders as he was placed on a cot and also threatened to punch one of the paramedics while holding up a closed fist.
Snider was transported by Indian Lake EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital, where he continued to use offensive language toward medical staff. He was released from the hospital and was transported to the Logan County Jail. En route to the jail, deputies said he defecated himself in the back seat.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department assisted with the defendant at the hospital as well.
