BellefontainePolice Patch-200Josh Snyder, 37, of West Liberty, had his car towed from the scene of a traffic stop initiated by officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department around 3:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 14, along County Road 32.

Police on patrol observed the suspect operating his vehicle on Lawrence Street near Garfield Avenue and a registration check showed he had a suspended license.

Officers began to follow after the vehicle, which reportedly failed to stop a stop sign and sped away at a high rate of speed. Officers caught up to the suspect on south C.R. 32 and initiated the stop.

Upon making contact with Snyder, police report he was argumentative and claimed to have driving privileges. Snyder was told his driving privileges were to and from work only and he was not permitted to be driving at that time. Snyder eventually asked for the officer’s supervisor, and was told the same thing by a shift sergeant, that he was outside his court-ordered privileges.

He was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign and for driving under suspension.
