Dennis Horne, 22, of Bellefontaine, was charged with felonious assault after he reportedly attacked another man with a knife shortly before 8:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 8.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were directed to a residence in the 600 block of Florence Avenue and were told the suspect was intoxicated and hiding in a vehicle in the driveway of the residence.
The victim and the witness reported the suspect became angry following a dispute between the victim and his girlfriend. Horne reportedly charged at the victim with the knife and knocked him to the ground.
In self defense, the victim told police he punched Horne in the face to get him off of him.
Officers made contact with Horne and apprehended him. He reportedly was violent toward police and had to be forcibly placed into the patrol car.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
