Adam Emrick, 34 of Russells Point, was charged with strangulation and domestic violence related to an incident Monday, Dec. 18.
Officers of the Washington Township were dispatched about 8:55 a.m. to a residence in Russells Point in reference to a domestic violence dispute.
Upon arrival, officers met with a female victim who stated she was choked and struck by her boyfriend, Emrick. The victim had injuries consistent with being choked.
During the assault, Emrick caused damage throughout the residence and used a knife to make threats to harm himself as well. The victim stated that the defendant was withdrawing from drugs and believed that was part of the reason for the incident.
Emrick was taken into custody and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Driver charged with OVI
Gina Dyer, 56, of Lakeview, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs related to a traffic stop Friday evening, Dec. 15.
Officers on patrol on State Route 274 near County Road 61 about 10:15 p.m. conducted a traffic stop on Dyer’s vehicle for a marked lanes violation.
Upon making contact with Dyer, signs of impairment were observed. The defendant submitted to field sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest for OVI.
She was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.
Once at the jail, she submitted to a breath test and her BAC was .145. She also was cited for a marked lanes violation.
