BellefontainePolice Patch-200Devan Driscoll, 27, of Bellefontaine, was charged with disrupting public services, a fourth-degree felony following an altercation with his estranged significant other that occurred in the early morning hours Tuesday, June, 6.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report the suspect had accompanied the mother of his child to Mary Rutan Hospital to have their child treated. The female victim told officers that once they were done at the hospital and she attempted to take Driscoll back to his Elm Street residence, he refused to leave her car.

An argument ensued as the suspect reportedly refused to exit the car and also attempted to take her cell phone and prevent her from calling law enforcement.

The altercation reportedly became physical as the suspect tried to keep the victim from driving to the police station, lunging and grabbing at her multiple times.

The victim defended herself, officers report, striking Driscoll multiple times before eventually freeing herself from the vehicle and walking to the police department.

Upon their arrival at the suspect’s residence, lacerations and fresh blood were observed on Driscoll’s lip and forearms.

He told police his wife beat him up and claimed she was the aggressor. He said he had taken her phone and dropped it in the area of Oakland Square Park.

Driscoll was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
