Daniel Thomas, 32, of Bellefontaine, was arrested around 11:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, on multiple felony arrest warrants by officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department following an investigation of a trespassing complaint from his estranged girlfriend.
Police initially were dispatched to an apartment complex on east Sandusky Avenue by the victim who said Thomas was at her residence knocking on the door and windows. She told police she’s estranged from the defendant and he’s not welcome at her residence.
Thomas reportedly left the scene prior to officers’ arrival, but police observed him driving along the 100 block of north Main Street and executed a traffic stop.
Thomas told police he was only at the apartment to collect his mail, but he left when the victim didn’t answer the door.
Police were eventually notified the defendant has active arrest warrants for kidnapping with the threat of serious harm, a first-degree felony; felonious assault, a second-degree felony; and disrupting public services, a fourth-degree felony.
He was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
