A suspect was arrested on a probation violation Tuesday evening, March 25, after officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle revving its engine with open containers of alcohol inside at 501 Gunntown Road.
Jarrell Johnson Jr., 21, was charged with open container in a motor vehicle, and taken into custody for violating his probation.
Officers were dispatched around 5:48 p.m. to the property by a neighbor reporting the nuisance and open containers. Upon arrival, they found Johnson seated in the driver’s seat of the parked vehicle with two juveniles nearby. Although the vehicle was not running, officers observed a tall can of Twisted Tea in the center console and a smaller can on the floorboard where Johnson had been seated.
The complainant told officers he did not see the vehicle in motion but heard it revving its engine. He stated that the lot next door had been a source of trouble in the past.
Johnson was initially cited for open container, but after consulting with his probation officer, authorities arrested him for violating the terms of his probation.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
