Susan “Susie” K. Deckling, 77, Lakeview, OH passed away Monday afternoon, July 10, 2023, at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine, OH.
Susan was born on March 20, 1946, in Bellefontaine, OH, a daughter of the late Everett and Florence Smith Leininger. She married Richard Deckling in 1981 and he preceded her in death in 2006.
Susie is survived by her two sons, Michael Stettler of Lakeview, and Shawn (Monica Grieves) Stettler of Anna, OH, four grandchildren, Toby Stettler, Tyler Stettler, Dillyn Stettler, and Jena Stettler, a sister, Barb (Joe) Cramer, and a brother, Dave (Sue) Leininger, both of Russells Point, OH.
Susie was a 1964 graduate of Indian Lake High School. She owned and operated Treasure Chest Flower Shop for many years then worked at Pro Bass Shop in Lakeview until she retired in 2008. Susie was a member of Doyle R. Miller Amvets Post #39 Auxiliary and Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533, both in Lakeview. She enjoyed doing crafts, gardening, her flowers, and fishing. Susie’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral services will be 4:00 pm, Monday, July 17, 2023, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St, Lakeview with visitation from 2-4 pm.
