Students to participate in National Manufacturing Day tours

National Manufacturing Day is approaching on Oct. 6, a day is to honor people in all manufacturing processes.

To make students aware of manufacturing opportunities available locally in Logan County, the schools, manufacturers and the Logan County Chamber of Commerce have joined together to create an opportunity for students to tour manufacturers.

Schools rotate participation each year, with students from Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan and Riverside participating in the experience this fall, planned for Oct. 18.
The target audience is high school seniors who are interested in manufacturing. They will tour AGC, DMG and PCPI Plastics.

The goal of Manufacturing Day is for students to get first-hand exposure to manufacturers and see they are not the stereo-typed factories of the past. There are a large number of careers available in this industry, which is continuously manufacturing products and developing new technologies.

Midwest Regional Educational Service Center organizes the event in conjunction with the Logan County Chamber of Commerce.
