Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department are looking for a suspect who fled the scene of a pedestrian-related crash that occurred around 7:15 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 14, in the area of south Main Street and Washington Avenue.
A 16-year-old male Bellefontaine City Schools student was reportedly crossing the intersection when he was struck by a vehicle that left the scene heading southbound, officers report.
The impact resulted in the student being knocked to the ground, sustaining possible minor injuries. He managed to walk to his nearby residence.
Later, as a precautionary measure, the teen was taken by his mother to Mary Rutan Hospital.
Police are still investigating.
