Thariq Al-Jhami, 36, of Bellefontaine, was charged with the illegal distribution of tobacco or alternative products following an investigation conducted by the Ohio Investigative Unit in conjunction with officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to Smokeablez, 2230 S. Main St., around 10 p.m. Friday, June 30, on a report the suspect had sold a THC vape cartridge to an underage purchaser. When asked, the suspect told officers he “forgot” to request proof of age.
The defendant was charged and issued a summons.
He was first arrested in April after police discovered that Smokablez was selling illegal cartridges to juveniles and distributing the cartridges out of the store. Al-Jhami was charged with trafficking in drugs, possession of marijuana and possession of hashish.
