Snow throws no-hitter in Pirates’ win

Alaina Snow tossed a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts to lead Riverside’s softball team to a 15-0 five-inning win over Northridge in Three Rivers Conference play Thursday.

Riverside is now 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the TRC.

The Pirates scored three runs in the first inning and followed with 11 more runs in the second inning to take a 14-0 lead. Riverside tacked on another run in the third.

Riverside finished with 14 hits.

Kaitlyn Schlumbohm went 3-4 with a triple and three RBI to spark the Pirates.

Also for Riverside, Snow went 2-2 with a double, triple and two RBI, Jade Copas went 3-5 with a double and three RBI and Riley Dillion went 3-4 with a double and two RBI.

Lakers stay perfect

Indian Lake’s softball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 16-3 five-inning win at Versailles on Thursday.

The Lakers led 5-3 after two innings and then exploded for 11 runs in the fourth inning to take a 16-3 advantage.

Indian Lake finished with 16 hits.

Katie Roby went 3-3 with a double and an RBI, Hailee Edwards went 2-4 with a triple and two RBI, Madison Brentlinger went 3-4 with a home run and four RBI, Kayleigh Zedlitz went 3-3 with two RBI, Abigail Elliott went 2-4 with a double and two RBI and Mackenzie Dixon went 2-4 with a double and one RBI to lead the IL offense.

Brentlinger earned the win in the pitching circle, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out three and walking none.

Lady Raiders wipe out New Bremen

Benjamin Logan’s softball team beat New Bremen 12-2 in a non-league game Thursday.
The Raiders are now 2-0 on the season.

New Bremen took a 2-0 lead early on, but the Raiders scored five runs in the fifth inning, one in the sixth and six in the seventh to blow the game open.

Jillian Plikerd led the Ben Logan hitting attack, going 3-4 with a home run and four RBI.

Brooks Myers went 3-4 with two RBI and Rhea Harner, Bailee Stover, Chloe Crumm and Kenzee Roseburrough each added two hits. Elliott Bailey chipped in with a double.

Crumm earned the win in the pitching circle, allowing only two hits while striking out 14.

Tigers lose to Northeastern

West Liberty-Salem’s softball team lost to Northwestern 12-0 in five innings in its season opener Thursday.

The Jets led 5-0 after three innings and added seven runs in the fourth inning to put the game away.

WL-S was limited to three hits, while the Jets finished with 12 hits.
