Evan Borgerding, 18, of Urbana, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead following a rear-end collision that occurred Thursday, Dec. 5, in the area of County Road 10 and Township Road 179 in Jefferson Township.
Borgerding reportedly was northbound on T.R. 179 around 10 a.m. in a 2007 silver Honda Accord approaching the four-way stop at C.R. 10, deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report.
Due to icy road conditions, Borgerding reportedly was unable to stop on the ice and crashed into the rear of a black 2011 Chrysler car operated by Brooklynn Dingledine, 18, of Urbana.
Functional damage was reported to both vehicles, but they were not towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.
