Sheryl Dawn Foor, 68, of Wapakoneta, OH, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center, West Monroe, LA.

Dawn was born on September 14, 1955, in Enterprise, AL, a daughter of the late William H. Smith, Jr, and Margaret Joy Reynolds Smith, who survives in West Monroe.

Dawn married Mark Foor on November 1, 1974, in West Monroe, and he survives. She is also survived by five daughters, Starla Kraft of Wapakoneta, Shanna (Chris) Brown of West Monroe, Skyla (Jim) Hawk of Lima, OH, Sierra (Tommy) Barquero of Wapakoneta, and Serena (Matthew) Holbrook of Roundhead, OH, six grandchildren, Nathan Brown, Ethan Brown, Mercedes Foor, Florence Crumrine, Maksim Holbrook, and Jace Holbrook, three sisters, Starla (Ken) Bunn of West Monroe, Pam (Ed) Spencer of Wapakoneta, and Kimberly (Paul) Stephens of West Monroe, and several nieces and nephews.

Dawn was a member of St. Johns Methodist Church, Celebrate Recovery, Life Recovery, and Family Life Center. She enjoyed many things including Swedish weaving, reading, especially her Bible, cooking, dancing, and arranging flowers. Dawn was a people person who loved mentoring young women and mothers, working with her CR and LR groups. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend and loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. Dawn’s faith was a light to everyone who knew her. Her infectious laughter, kindness, tenderness, love, and wisdom will be sorely missed. Though we miss her dearly, our hearts have peace in knowing she is in the presence of her savior, Jesus Christ. We will see her again, someday.

Pastor David Holbrook will begin funeral services at noon, Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview. Visitation is Tuesday, May 28, from 5-8 pm, and from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, OH.
