Sherry Louise Arnett, 93, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at her home.

She was born on May 11, 1930, in Richwood, Ohio; the daughter of D. Dwight Mulvaine and Freda (McElhaney) Mulvaine.

On September 5, 1948, she married the love of her life, Charles W. Arnett, who preceded her in death on December 18, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard, son Steven J. Arnett, and grandson Jeremy M. Hodge.

Sherry is survived by three children: Michael (Leona) Arnett of Bellefontaine, Ronald (Karen) Arnett of West Liberty, and Susan (Bindi) Paul of Bellefontaine. She was proud of her 9 grandchildren and their spouses: Jordan Arnett, Lyn (Andy) Patusky, Maggie (Levi) Shultz, Eva (Stephen) Warrener, Oliva Arnett, Alyssa (Joseph) Haley, Jake (Chelsea) Wells, Nicole Houchins, and Patrick Donelly. Sherry was also blessed with 12 great-grandchildren.

Sherry loved being a stay-at-home mom. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, especially basketball. The family knew not to call her during a game. She and Charlie loved playing bridge, belonging to several bridge clubs. After Charlie was gone, she still enjoyed her ladies bridge club and playing at the Senior Center on Fridays after getting her hair done first! Sherry was an amateur genealogist, spending 20+ years researching her family tree. She was also very active in the Logan County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, having been a member since 1975, and served as a Regent three times for a total of 9 years, a Registrar for 25-plus years, and State Chair from 2001-2004, and NW District Chair for many years.

Sherry was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. She still listened faithfully to the service on the radio every Sunday once her health prevented her attending in person. Sherry also looked forward to the ladies’ visits on Friday when they would deliver the church bulletin. She enjoyed reminiscing about her childhood, meeting and dating Charlie, and especially about being the drum majorette for the Kenton High School Marching Band.

Sherry’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Universal Home Health Hospice for the care they provided, especially Erin, Carla, Sydney, and Amanda.

Pastor Joe Ziraldo will officiate Sherry’s memorial service on Monday, October 2, at 3 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in Bellefontaine Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 201 N. Main St. Bellefontaine, OH 43311.

Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, is honored to serve the Arnett family and encourages anyone to share a fond memory or message of condolence at www.edsfh.com.
