Landon J. Rocker, 19, of Hilliard, was transported by Bellefontaine EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries sustained in a crash Sunday, June 9.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating a westbound 2012 Chevrolet Malibu on County Road 10 about 9:50 a.m.

He reportedly struck the rear of a westbound 2007 Honda Pilot operated by Dean M. Kenoyer, 65, of Bellefontaine, that had stopped in traffic to make a left turn onto C.R. 55.

Kenoyer was checked at the scene for injuries by Tri-Valley EMS, but was not transported, deputies said. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

Damage was heavy to the Malibu, which was towed from the scene, and moderate to the Pilot.

Unwanted guest charged with breaking and entering

Ashley R. Coates, 29, of Liberty Township, was charged with breaking and entering and trespass related to an incident Wednesday, June 5.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 12:50 a.m. to an address on Township Road 108, Huntsville, on a report of a woman found sleeping on a couch inside the caller’s residence.

The caller said he had no idea who the woman was and said she did not have permission to be in the home. Then the woman reportedly left the residence on foot.

Deputies located the woman, later identified as Coates, walking along T.R. 108 just west of the residence.

She reportedly told deputies that she was homeless and that she was just trying to find somewhere to stay. Coates said a stranger had given her $10 and told her to go to this residence on T.R. 108, stating it was a shelter where she could stay.

The defendant stated she made entry to the home through a rear door and said while she was there, she laid on the couch and watched TV. She said she drank cranberry juice from the refrigerator.

She was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.

The homeowner reported that besides the cranberry juice being left out of the refrigerator, no other items were missing.

Domestic violence charge filed

Tamatha L. Martin, 55, of 13253 State Route 720, Lakeview, was charged with domestic violence related to an incident Thursday, June 6.

Deputies responded to her address about 5:40 p.m. on a report from Martin that she “needed an ambulance” and she stated, “he is hitting me.”

Deputies responded and observed a man packing items into his vehicle, stating he is done with Martin and that he was leaving the residence. He said the defendant had been drinking all day and stated that she struck him in the chest several times.

Martin was located inside the home. When deputies entered, deputies said she was screaming and it was apparent that she had been drinking heavily.

While speaking with deputies, Martin reported that her significant other had struck her in the face several times and that she was scared. Deputies stated they did not see any injuries to her face. They did photograph a bruise and scrapes on her arm.

She admitted to deputies that she had been drinking “a lot” of alcohol that day and she also had a glass cup in her hand containing alcohol. Martin was placed under arrest and transported to the jail.
