Occupational therapy assistant Fran Smith, left, gives an enthusiastic high five to preschooler Davis Greene Tuesday morning, Jan. 28, at the Discovery Center’s annual shaving cream skating party, which has been a tradition looked forward to by preschoolers and staff alike for the past 25 years. This year, the school ordered 300 cans of shaving cream to use throughout the week. Classrooms are taking part in the skating sessions in the gymnasium Monday through Thursday, with parents invited to join in and get messy with their children as well. Friday evening, Jan. 31, staff are invited to bring their children for a fun family night of shaving cream skating. Students from Indian Lake High School have been volunteering their time all week to play alongside the preschoolers and spread cheer, including Key Club members participating on Tuesday.
