A driver and passenger were hospitalized early Monday, June 17, with suspected serious injuries following a one-vehicle crash that occurred along County Road 29 in Monroe Township.
Marcus Hagans, 37, of Springfield, and Brittnie Whetsel, 32, of Bellefontaine, each were taken by Macochee EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for suspected serious injuries.
Deputies were dispatched around 2:45 a.m. to the 3100 block of C.R. 29 on a report of a vehicle on its top. The investigation continues, but preliminary reports indicate Hagans was operating a 2022 Polaris three-wheeled motorcycle southeast on C.R. 29 when he failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the right side of the road. The vehicle struck brush and debris in the tree line, then overturned, coming to rest on its top.
The Polaris sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
